Nothing beats the fun of having some friends over and getting into a mini competition to kick each other?s teeth in. Def Jam Icon was surprisingly a lot of fun for this. It controls and game play is very rough and hard to understand and learn but once you do you can work with it ok. It basically has 2 types of attacks High and Low. You can kick, and punch. Also there are moves such as blocking, counters, and throws. Basically you have to learn to read your opponent and block his attacks and release your combos on them. We played this for a good number of hours competing for top honor. Unfortunately once you learn to read each other the game becomes a lot like Rock paper scissors and just random chance. Like if you punch high, high, low? and I block Low, High, Low? So despite how crappy the fighting system is and all the game is still pretty fun to play in multiplayer. I don?t think the single player is worth even considering. I guess I should mention the record scratching and playing your music for a power-up. Nah it?s not that important. Doesn?t really matter who?s music is playing you are still just playing rock paper scissors.

This is a rental game really. I think it?s fun to some degree but I can?t see a lot of people wanting to own it..
