Resident Evil 2 was my favorite Resident Evil game until Resident Evil 4 came about. It still holds a special place in my heart for the series. It still had all the same complaints people gave all the other Resident Evil games, bad camera angles and controls that where hard to learn. These things never bothered me, in fact, with the control scheme they were using at the time the only choice was to have fixed camera angles. The control scheme is basically if you push up you will always go forward, back is down, right is right, and left is left. It is something that people should be able to figure out but they made a big deal about it. It works because imagine the camera is fixed in front of you and then the next scene the camera is behind you and you have to refigure your controls because of that. With the fixed controls you don?t have to do that. It?s defiantly that best way that could have done the controls at the time.

The story is good too, of course the main story is of zombies taking over but it really gets deeper than that the further you get into it. You find out about this corporation, the Umbrella Corporation, that is making a T virus to mutate human DNA, it really drags you in. On top of that most of the game is set in a police station that is the size of a mansion. You will go from room to room doing puzzles and figuring out secrets of the small towns back story.

I enjoyed this game on the N64 more than the Playstation simply because the Playstation had longer load times, but either way you?re going to get a great game. I highly recommend it.
