Mario Kart has always been an interesting series of games for Nintendo because it took traditional racing games and made them into something that isn?t so bland and repetitive. This Mario Kart lives up to its name with the same high speed zaniness as its classic cousins. I personally love the idea of two players on one kart. One player can throw items while the other drives. I find this new formula very appealing and while it is better with two actual human beings as apposed to your other character being a computer in single player mode, I don?t think that double dashing takes anything away from the single player.

This game is very beautiful visually too, with tons of color and vibrance at every turn. All the courses are set in a brushed over sheen Mario universe. I find some of the courses even better that Mario Kart 64. (Dare I say it). The Gamecube pulls out all the greatness of Mario Kart, no pixilated, reflections, and shadowing, Things that Mario Kart 64 couldn?t necessarily do. You can tell from the first moment you put the game in that it has been polished to its finest. For the Mario Kart fan, the racing fan, or the Nintendo fan this is a definite buy for the Gamecube.
